MMVM Foundation DOSA Project
Spirit, Mind & Body — Angola
DOSA (Development, Opportunity, Stewardship, Agape) is MMVM Foundation's Spirit, Mind & Body platform in Angola.
A Christ-centered, open-access youth platform in Angola — using sport, culture, education, health, and vocational formation to help 500 young people discover their God-given dignity and purpose.
We walk with youth to awaken them to the genuine love of their Creator, grow toward reconciliation, dignity, and service, and find real pathways into education, work, and community. DOSA Spirit, Mind & Body is the flagship project of MMVM International Foundation, implemented in Angola with local support from Fundação LWINI.

Creating Pathways of Opportunity. Building Legacies of Impact.
Through MMVM International, we connect business opportunities. Through MMVM Foundation, we create opportunities that transform lives.
Spirit, Mind & Body — How We See Youth
We believe God created every young person in Angola with a purpose. The DOSA (Development, Opportunity, Stewardship, Agape) Project walks with youth in Spirit, Mind, and Body — helping them discover who they are in Christ and grow in faith, with purpose, dignity, and a life oriented toward God and love for neighbor.
Spirit
Through awakening the perception of the genuine love of our Creator, and of the reality of good and evil and their consequences, we lead young people to reconciliation with God through Christ, so that they can love God and their neighbor and discover a life purpose.
For we are God’s handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do. — Ephesians 2:10
Body
When spirit and mind are aligned, physical challenges begin to be understood as opportunities to overcome, not obstacles. Through discipline and development of motor abilities, focus, and determination, young people learn self-care so they can obtain health and live an active, healthy life.
Your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit. — 1 Corinthians 6:19
Mind
With spiritual discernment, hope, and discipline, we help young people develop a clear mind, free from distortions that lead to loss of values, strengthening their self-esteem, resilience, emotional balance, and ability to solve problems with purpose.
We want children and young people to develop awareness of legitimate purposes, discovering and putting into practice their gifts and talents, maintaining emotional control in the face of the anxieties and pressures of daily life, avoiding frustration and discouragement.
Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. — Romans 12:2
Participation in sport, education, agriculture, meals, and support is never conditioned on church attendance, conversion, or any declaration of faith. We share Jesus with grace and open hands, not closed fists.
Why Angola? Why Now.
Angola does not need more slogans. It needs safe, structured, Christ-centered spaces where young people can grow — and find real pathways into education, work, and service.
Almost half of Angola's population is under 15 — millions of children are out of school or at risk of leaving.
Youth unemployment and 'not in education, employment, or training' rates are high, especially for ages 18–35.
Preventable health challenges and gaps in inclusive education leave vulnerable youth and youth with disabilities without support.
Sport is a trusted door into the lives of young Angolans, especially in low-income communities.
Each of these realities points to the same need: structured, safe, Spirit-led spaces where young people can grow in body, mind, and spirit.
Why Sport Is the Door
DOSA is led by sport and culture, not by sport only. Football, martial arts, surf, music, dance, visual arts, performing arts, and children's activities are doors that allow us to reach young people and motivate them toward faith, learning, professional training, and service. Sport and culture are not ends in themselves, but doors into education, health, mentoring, agriculture, and opportunity — and we meet youth where they are and walk with them toward who they can become.
What We Do in Year 1
Seven pilot tracks. Three locations. One DOSA (Development, Opportunity, Stewardship, Agape) platform built on Spirit, Mind & Body.
Faith & Football Academies — Luanda
Football as a doorway into school connection, mentoring, and character for 160 kids ages 6–16.
Warriors of Peace — Luanda
Martial arts building discipline, self-control, and non-violent conflict resolution for 100 young people ages 10–18.
Waves of Hope — Cabo Ledo
Surf, water safety, and creation care for 80 youth ages 10–18 — learning courage, resilience, and respect for the ocean.
Lights for Learning — Luanda
Assistive technology, accessible learning, and caregiver support for 100 children with disabilities and their families.
Hosts of Hospitality — Cabo Ledo
Coastal hospitality and tourism careers for youth ages 15–25 — from kitchen to career, serving with excellence and Christian welcome.
Seeds of Hope — Bengo — 20-Hectare Vocational Site
Agriculture & Food Security — from garden exposure for children to a full vocational track for youth ages 15–25. From soil to market, rooted in Bengo.
Paths of Purpose — Luanda
Young adults 18–25 in cohorts focused on job readiness, coaching pathways, digital literacy, and service leadership.
Across all pilots, we target at least 40% girls and design every activity so that youth with disabilities can take part.
Faith & Football Academies — Luanda
"Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord, not for human masters." — Colossians 3:23
Faith & Football uses the game young Angolans already love as a doorway into school connection, mentoring, and Christ-centered character.
Football sessions become a place where children and adolescents learn discipline, teamwork, and respect — and hear that their value comes from God, not from their performance. Two weekly practices, school check-ins, and small-group talks help 160 kids ages 6–16 grow in Spirit, Mind & Body: praying voluntarily with coaches, strengthening their bodies through sport, and renewing their minds with truth and encouragement. As they grow, they are invited to discover that their lives carry purpose before God — and that discipline, gratitude, and community are part of their formation.
Ages 6–9: Introduction to football basics, teamwork, and fair play. Garden exposure and shared meals build gratitude and community.
Ages 10–13: Weekly training, school check-ins, and small-group mentoring. Youth begin to explore character, identity, and what it means to lead with integrity.
Ages 14–16: Deeper discipleship, peer leadership, and assistant coaching roles. Youth are invited to serve younger players and grow in responsibility.
Warriors of Peace — Luanda
"Blessed are the peacemakers, for they will be called children of God." — Matthew 5:9
Warriors of Peace takes the strength and focus of martial arts and redirects it toward peace, self-control, and reconciliation.
Young people ages 10–18 learn that true strength is not to dominate others but to serve, forgive, and protect. Their spirits are renewed through peace circles, storytelling, and values-based mentoring. Their bodies are built through weekly training in technique, balance, and discipline. Their minds are sharpened as they learn to process anger, bullying, and conflict in the light of Jesus' way of peace — building emotional balance, self-control, and the ability to respond without surrendering to anger, frustration, or fear.
Ages 10–12: Foundational movement, balance, and self-control. Introduction to peace circles and conflict resolution through storytelling.
Ages 13–15: Intermediate technique, peer mentoring, and values-based group discussions. Youth explore forgiveness, identity, and what it means to be a peacemaker.
Ages 16–18: Advanced training, leadership roles, and community service. Youth are equipped to model peace and mentor younger participants.
Waves of Hope — Cabo Ledo
"The earth is the Lord's, and everything in it, the world, and all who live in it." — Psalm 24:1
Waves of Hope invites youth into the classroom of the ocean — where courage, resilience, and creation care are learned through surf and water-safety training.
Through surf and water-safety training in Cabo Ledo, 80 young people ages 10–18 learn courage, resilience, and deep respect for God's creation. In voluntary moments of prayer and reflection, their spirits are stirred — hearing that the God who made the sea also knows and loves them personally. Their bodies are trained in balance, strength, and endurance on the water. Their minds are renewed as they learn to read currents, understand risk, and care for the coastline. Through courage, reflection, and respect for creation, youth learn that the ocean can become a place of formation, resilience, gratitude, and service.
Ages 10–12: Water safety fundamentals, beach awareness, and introduction to surf. Creation care reflections and gratitude for the ocean God made.
Ages 13–15: Intermediate surf technique, ocean reading, and environmental stewardship. Youth begin to see the coastline as a gift to protect and share.
Ages 16–18: Advanced surf, peer leadership, and coastal care projects. Youth are equipped to guide younger participants and serve their community through the ocean.
Lights for Learning — Luanda
"The light shines in the darkness, and the darkness has not overcome it." — John 1:5
Lights for Learning says clearly that children with disabilities are not an afterthought — they are at the center of God's heart and of the DOSA Project.
In Luanda, at least 100 children and adolescents with disabilities receive structured support and participate in learning alongside their families and teachers. Through words and actions, staff and volunteers speak to their spirits: you are seen, loved, and full of God-given potential. Each young person is encouraged to discover what they can do, what gifts they carry, and how they can grow with dignity in community. Gentle movement, posture, and mobility support their bodies where possible. Practical tools and adapted activities help their minds engage with literacy, numeracy, and curiosity.
Ages 6–9: Sensory play, adapted movement, and early literacy with assistive tools. Caregivers are welcomed as partners from day one.
Ages 10–14: Accessible learning activities, peer inclusion, and adapted sport. Youth with disabilities are integrated into DOSA's broader community wherever possible.
Ages 15–25: Life skills, vocational exploration, and supported pathways into Seeds of Hope or Paths of Purpose. Every young person is helped to discover what they can do and become.
Hosts of Hospitality — Hospitality & Tourism — Cabo Ledo
"Do not forget to show hospitality to strangers, for by so doing some people have shown hospitality to angels without knowing it." — Hebrews 13:2
Hosts of Hospitality builds on Cabo Ledo's coastal platform to open hospitality and tourism pathways for youth — where work becomes service and welcome.
Youth learn to see work not only as income, but as service and welcome — a way to reflect Christ's love to visitors, neighbors, and their own communities. Their spirits are formed through reflections on biblical hospitality, dignity, and pride in Angola's God-given coastline. Their bodies are trained in professional presence, caring for spaces, and serving safely in real contexts. Short modules and site visits build practical skills: foundational hospitality English, customer care, teamwork, and basic entrepreneurship. This formation helps youth see work not only as employment, but as vocation, service, discipline, and a way of welcoming others with dignity.
Ages 15–17 — Foundation Track: Introduction to hospitality values, customer care, and service. Biblical reflections on welcome, dignity, and what it means to serve with excellence.
Ages 17–20 — Skills Track: Food preparation basics, catering support, tourism awareness, and simple hospitality English. Site visits and supervised practical experiences in real hospitality settings.
Ages 20–25 — Vocational Cohort: Professional catering, hotel and lodge operations, event management, tourism guiding, and industry certifications. Employment placement and entrepreneurship pathways.
Seeds of Hope — Bengo — A Vocational Pathway for the Next Generation
"The LORD God took the man and put him in the garden of Eden to work it and take care of it." — Genesis 2:15
Seeds of Hope teaches youth that caring for the land is an act of stewardship, dignity, and service to God and community.
Seeds of Hope is DOSA's agriculture and food security formation pathway — beginning with garden exposure for children and growing into a vocational track that gives youth ages 15–25 a real profession, not just exposure. Rooted on a 20-hectare site in Bengo, it is where learning leads to work, enterprise, and a future. Here, young people learn that caring for the land is an act of stewardship, dignity, service to God and community, and a real pathway toward profession and purpose.
Ages 6–9
Garden exposure, seeds and soil, fruit and vegetable discovery, gratitude for creation. Youth learn that food comes from the earth and that caring for it is a gift.
Ages 10–14
Garden clubs, crop cycles, compost, clean eating, and food hygiene. Youth begin to understand how food grows, how to care for it, and why it matters for their health and community.
Ages 15–19 — Technical Track
Technical agriculture, agroecology, irrigation, crop management, and market awareness. Youth begin to see farming as a profession, not just survival.
Ages 19–25 — Vocational Cohort
Agriculture & Agribusiness: food processing, cooperative models, agribusiness planning, and employment referrals. Graduates leave with a real skill and a real pathway.
Agriculture & Food Security
Grow, process, sell. From soil to market — a real profession for the next generation. From Bengo to market, the land becomes a place of learning, vocation, and hope.
Paths of Purpose — Luanda
(formerly Work of Hope)
"For we are God's handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do." — Ephesians 2:10
Paths of Purpose walks with young adults ages 18–25 as they discern who they are, what they can do, and where God might be calling them — encouraged to discover what gifts they carry, and how discipline, integrity, resilience, and service shape a meaningful future.
In cohort settings, they explore vocation, integrity, and service while learning concrete skills for the job market and leadership in their communities. Their spirits are encouraged as they discover that God has prepared good works for them in advance. Their bodies are trained in healthy work habits — time management, rest, and perseverance. Their minds are renewed through CV preparation, interview practice, basic digital literacy, and problem-solving. They grow in calling, discipline, and confidence as they prepare to serve in their neighborhoods and beyond.
Cohort Entry (Ages 18–20): Vocational discernment, identity formation, and introduction to the job market. Youth explore their gifts, values, and what it means to work with integrity.
Cohort Development (Ages 20–22): CV preparation, interview practice, digital literacy, and problem-solving. Peer accountability and mentoring deepen character and resilience.
Cohort Graduation (Ages 22–25): Employment referrals, assistant leadership roles, and community service projects. Graduates are equipped to lead, serve, and mentor the next generation.
Safe by Design — Our Promise to Families
Every DOSA (Development, Opportunity, Stewardship, Agape) program is built on child protection, disability inclusion, and non-coercive Christian witness. These are not afterthoughts — they are launch gates.
Child Protection First
All activities are supervised, structured, and documented under child protection standards. Staff, coaches, and volunteers complete safeguarding training before any program launches.
Inclusion from the Start
We partner with Fundação LWINI, our local disability-inclusion ally, to design with disability inclusion from the beginning — not as an add-on. Lights for Learning specifically serves youth with disabilities and their caregivers.
No Child Labor
We do not use children as cheap labor in Seeds of Hope or any other activity. Year 1 agriculture is educational and age-appropriate only.
Non-Coercive Faith
Staff, coaches, and volunteers are trained in non-coercive Christian witness. No child is treated differently based on their faith background or response. Our foundation is grace, not pressure.
MMVM Foundation (U.S.) owns safeguarding, compliance, and program architecture. A joint DOSA Steering Committee with Fundação LWINI oversees Angola operations — including site visits, incident reporting, and program review. Quarterly dashboards and an annual impact report are shared with all donors and partners.
